This is my first blog, so be patient with me.  I would like to chronicle my school's adventure into one-to-one computing.

We are a small rural school in southwestern Sheboygan County with less than 300 students in our 4k - fourth grade elementary school.  The decision was made this winter to take the leap into the world of hand-held devices in the classroom.  Until now, students have had access to a computer lab located within our elementary.  We have also, on occasion, been able to use time on the HS and MS labs (we are are all under one common roof).  Teachers each have a desktop PC, LCD projector and a MIMIO (interactive white board).  Many classrooms have mini labs (a pod of approximately four desktop computers), and many resourceful teachers have written grants for netbooks, laptops, and iPads.  Seeing how the kids took to the use of these various devices in their classrooms and how it has impacted teaching and learning, exploring the one-to-one option was an obvious next step.
